If your roof looks bad due to ugly black stains
and streaks caused by Algae & Fungus, it doesn't necessarily mean you need a
new roof. It is estimated that half of all roofs that are replaced
are needlessly replaced due to appearance rather than structural
integrity.
Replacing a roof on just a small house can cost
four to six thousand dollars or more while having the same roof
professionally cleaned would save you thousands of dollars over
replacement.
The least expensive roof should last fifteen years. More
expensive roofs can last for thirty plus years but the warranties on
all are limited
and only cover Algae & Fungus for a short time. It typically takes
five to seven years for Algae and Fungus to become noticeable.
Cleaning your roof will dramatically increase it's life. If your
roof looks bad due to staining with no visible structural defects
or leaking, it more than likely just needs to be cleaned.
